OCEAN POLLUTION
hello guys,
how are you guys?
I hope you are always in good condition
on this occasion,
I will explain the impact of plastic waste on the ocean
Save Our Oceans From Plastic
Now, the daily activities of the
Indonesian people certainly will not be separated from a product called
plastic. It could be said that plastic has indeed become one of the important
parts in people's lives today and certainly has a role that has replaced metal
and wood.
In Indonesia according to government data, around 10 billion plastic bags, with a total weight of 85,000 tons, are thrown away in the surrounding environment every year. Meanwhile, ocean currents have brought plastic waste from all over the world gathered in several places which creates the phenomenon of giant junk piles everywhere - which lie in the northern Pacific Ocean that is twice the size of the state of Texas in the United States, according to the Center for Biodiversity. Plastics in macro and mega sizes can ensnare marine biota, including coral reefs. Meanwhile, micro and nano size plastic can be eaten by fish and shellfish because it is thought to be plankton. Micro waste is less than 330 micro meters in size. While nano waste is between 330 micro meters to 5 billion meters. Both of them can float, drift and be sedimentated on the seabed. Therefore a variety of marine biota can be fooled.

Therefore a variety of marine biota can be fooled.
This is one concrete example of the effect of plastic waste. Thai
Marine Officials say pilot whales die after ingesting 80 plastic bags. In fact,
during treatment in Songkhla Province by conservation officials, the poor whale
continued to spit out five plastic bags of garbage. When sea creatures such as turtles, whales and
other fish think that floating plastic waste is food, they will swallow things
they cannot digest. The plastic will stay in their intestines forever and often
this causes death. At least 100,000 animals in the sea and 1 million
seabirds die from eating plastic every year, according to a non-governmental
marine organization called Ocean Crusaders. The sea can absorb CO2. The absorbed CO2 will
be taken by coral reefs to be used in photosynthesis and produce oxygen that is
useful for living things. The sea is also a producer of protein sources in the
form of fish, besides that seaweed and sea coral are partly considered an
indicator of marine hygiene. And finally the beautiful underwater scenery can
be used as a tourist attraction for humans. Marine pollution that occurs, due to human factors
and natural factors. Marine pollution must have a direct impact on marine
organisms. Not only that, it will also have an impact on various human
activities. The problem that always occurs is that plastic waste continues to
be carried into the ocean and causes accumulation which ultimately disrupts
marine ecosystems and has a major impact on human life.
This problem has a solution, in my opinion the
most responsible is that we all as children of the earth, the government with
its authority can make rules for using bioplastics, namely environmentally
friendly plastics made from renewable materials and biodegradable in nature or
materials that can be use it repeatedly, socializing to make people aware of the
dangers of garbage, and finally we should start to change our lifestyle by starting to
use environmentally friendly plastic (bioplastic) or materials that can be used
many times
It's time for us to change habits
and contribute, so that we can minimize the damage that has occurred, we can
reduce plastic waste in a simple way, stop using plastic, use non-disposable
materials, start with small things, show if we care.

DeleteSuch an important article to know about! Our earth now in dangerous situation, i mean, various dangerous problems may arise from our careless activities. and i think everyone on earth must contribute, to not littering. because this planet is already have lots of garbage and it endangers human and animal life, also it can causes many further problems!
ReplyDeleteThank you brooππ
